Prof. Dr. Tara Prasad Bhusal is a distinguished economist and professor at the Central
Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University, widely recognized for his expertise in
macroeconomics, econometrics, corruption studies, public finance, political economy, and
governance. With over three decades of academic, research, and institutional leadership, he
has been instrumental in advancing evidence-based policymaking, fiscal governance, and

Dr. Bhusal previously served as the Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences (2019–2024) and Member Secretary of the Board of Examination at Tribhuvan
University, where he led major reforms in curriculum modernization, digital examination
systems, and academic transparency—setting new standards for institutional accountability
and efficiency. His collaborations with the UNDP, Transparency International, Tax and

Prof. Umesh Kumar Mandal is a distinguished geographer and academic leader who currently

Tribhuvan University and currently chairs the National Man and Biosphere Committee for

Mandal’s expertise spans agroecology, soil geography, natural resource management, remote
sensing and GIS, and quantitative modeling techniques. He earned his PhD in Agroecology
from Tribhuvan University, an M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS Applications in Soil and
Agriculture from Andhra University, India, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing
and GIS from the United Nations–affiliated CSSTE-AP in Dehradun. An M.A. in geography
from Tribhuvan University forms the foundation of his academic journey.
Prof. Mandal has represented Nepal in numerous international forums, including IPBES
meetings in Tehran, Panama, and Bonn, and UNESCO-supported regional workshops on
ecosystem and biosphere management across Asia. He has authored over six dozen research
papers, book chapters, and policy publications on biodiversity, climate change, and
sustainable land management. As Chief Editor of the Geographical Journal of Nepal and

provided intellectual leadership in formulating the 16th National Plan of Nepal, focusing on
education, health, urban development, and infrastructure. His policy and research

Mr. Chaudhary’s professional journey includes diverse engagements with national and
international organizations. As a Carbon Pricing and Climate Finance Specialist at the
Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) in Indonesia, he contributed
to regional climate finance strategies and conducted carbon pricing assessments for the Belait
Peat Swamp Forest in Brunei Darussalam. At the Electricity Regulation Commission (ERC)
in Nepal, he worked as an energy economics consultant, conducting studies on equity
financing, risk governance, and regulatory reform to enhance sustainability in the electricity
sector. He has also been serving as a collaborator on multiple climate policy research projects
and policy briefs with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in
Washington, D.C., focusing on methane emissions, agricultural integration, and climate
mitigation.
As the Founder and Executive Chairperson of the Policy Research Foundation (PRF), Mr.
Arbind Chaudhary has led diverse research and policy initiatives encompassing development
